Performing With Nerves
Whether it was from performing, or just public speaking, at some point in their life everyone has felt embarrassed or nervous about being in front of others. If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably internalized a running script of one, or more of these questions while in front of people.
Will they like me? What if I mess up? What if I forget my song? What if I fall while walking up? These are all normal thoughts to have. As a culture, we focus so much on never wanting others to think negatively about what we do, that it can cause us to over worry or overthink the littlest things. One of the most memorable lessons in my life was when I did my first show as a solo performer.
